According to ABC News, the huge income and fame of Kpop idols is the dream of today's Korean youth generation. The report partly conveys the situation of training trainees at SM Ent.
Appearing on the show, Mark Lee - a member of the SMRookies trainee project - confidently answered the interview in English. The guy born in 1999 has 2 years of experience training skills at SM Ent. He said that trainees not only need to sing and dance well, but also need to have speaking skills and a sense of humor. All of these are learned through classes in vocals, dance, foreign languages, musical instruments and communication skills.

The American television reportage especially emphasized the star training system of Korea, which even accepts trainees as young as 10 years old. This is considered an important factor bringing success to Kpop.
In addition, promoting a group, instead of a solo singer, is also a smart strategy, minimizing investment risks. SNSD's powerful choreography in Catch Me If You Can is used to illustrate "uniform, disciplined dance moves" - a prominent feature of Kpop.
