Que Phong is addressing the consequences of landslides caused by heavy rains and floods.
(Baonghean.vn) - On September 18th, leaders of Que Phong district were present at landslide and flood-affected areas to direct efforts to mitigate the consequences of the heavy rains.
In recent days, heavy rains in Que Phong district have caused significant damage. Many roads have been eroded, and hundreds of hectares of crops have been flooded. Water levels in rivers, streams, lakes, and dams have risen, posing a potential danger to residents. Preliminary estimates put the damage at hundreds of millions of dong. The district has formed several inspection teams to promptly address the situation and work with farmers to quickly overcome the consequences of the floods and restore normal life.

Currently, the only road leading into Nam Giai commune is blocked by landslides caused by heavy rains, with thousands of cubic meters of soil and rocks spilling onto the road, isolating 455 households in the commune. Que Phong district has deployed vehicles and machinery to the landslide site to clear the soil, rocks, and trees to reopen the road as soon as possible.
Present at the landslide site on September 18th, Mr. Le Van Giap, Chairman of the People's Committee of Que Phong district, directed the units to both address the landslide and implement long-term prevention measures, including placing warning signs to inform people when traveling on the road.
