Cheese helps prevent type 2 diabetes
People who regularly consume high-fat dairy products, such as yogurt, cheese, etc., can significantly reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
This is the result of a new study by Swedish scientists, recently published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (USA).

Accordingly, scientists at Lund University (Sweden) monitored and analyzed medical data of 27,000 people, aged 45-74, participating in a study on the relationship between diet and cancer, in the early 1990s.
During the study, participants were asked to provide details of their eating habits. Twenty years later, more than 10%, or 2,860 people, had developed type 2 diabetes.
After taking into account other risk factors for diabetes, such as diet and lifestyle, the analysis found that people who consumed the most full-fat dairy products had a 23% lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes than those who ate the least.
According to Ulrika Ericson - the author of the study: the reason why people who consume a lot of high-fat dairy products significantly reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes may be due to the high content of saturated fat contained in this food.
Scientists further explained that although both meat and dairy products contain saturated fat, certain saturated fatty acids, which have the ability to help prevent type 2 diabetes, are often found in dairy products. In addition, it is not excluded that other components present in dairy products such as yogurt and cheese... may have contributed to this interesting result.
