The Oktoberfest beer festival is in full swing (Germany).
(Baonghean) - The Oktoberfest beer festival, also known as the October Festival, is held in Munich – Germany's third largest city. It is one of the world's largest festivals, featuring over 30 beer brands from Munich, serving visitors day and night, and attracting approximately 6 million attendees each year.
The Oktoberfest was first held in October 1810 to celebrate the wedding of Prince Ludwig of Bavaria, from southern Germany, to Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen. Later, the festival became an annual event, lasting from the end of September until the first week of October.

It is estimated that around 5 million liters of beer are prepared to serve visitors attending the festival. Besides beer – a favorite drink and deeply rooted in German culture – unique traditional costumes are also an indispensable "specialty" of the festival. Men wear leather vests and shorts, while women are dressed in elegant Dirndl dresses paired with white shirts. The parade of traditional costumes, starting from the Max II Landmark, is a particularly impressive highlight of the festival. Since 1978, the city of Munich has also issued a special type of mug for Oktoberfest.
What could be better than enjoying unique and diverse beers – for free – at beer tents in a German festival, a country famous for this barley-fermented beverage? The vibrant atmosphere and the friendliness of the German people explain why the festival has become an annual destination for millions worldwide.
