Simple with a tolerant heart

(Baonghean) - The woman with silver-flecked hair and a warm smile is no stranger to the Nghe An Newspaper Editorial Board, because she always chooses to use Nghe An Newspaper to do charity work, sharing with those who are struggling in life.

Her house is in Tan Phuc Apartment Complex, Vinh City. There is nothing extravagant, she and her husband only live on pensions, simple daily meals, but she is always enthusiastic about sharing with the unfortunate. She said: "Whenever there is an article published in Nghe An Newspaper about poor circumstances, I try to share, just a little bit of my heart!..." Recently, in Nghe An Newspaper there was an article "Dream of a poor student" about the situation of student Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, Class 9A, Phan Dang Luu Secondary School. After reading it, she cycled to Nghe An Newspaper's editorial office to ask for 500 thousand VND in support and gave Lan Anh a shirt. She said that if Lan Anh passes the university entrance exam in Vinh City, she would like to provide food and accommodation, if she wants... Then, she hurried back home.

Her hometown is in Nam Cuong, Nam Dan, next to the gentle Lam River. She said that her childhood was luckier than many of her peers because her parents were cadres. But it was during the afternoons playing with her friends on the dike or the nights watching the oars splashing in the blue Lam River with small lights shining from the bow of the fishing boat that she witnessed the miserable lives and soon read the desire and hope for a simple livelihood of many people that was not easy to obtain...

In her mind, the images of little Hong and little Hoi are still vividly imprinted when they faced difficulties and sufferings that seemed too much. For example, Hoi - a schoolgirl in Ky Anh district (Ha Tinh) did not have enough food to eat, her parents died early and she had to live with her aunt. Once, accidentally meeting Hoi, hearing the story, with a few hundred thousand dong left in her pocket, she hurriedly ran to a roadside shop to buy two boxes of instant noodles, hurriedly telling Hoi "try your best". Then, through her letters back and forth, through her very small, very ordinary concerns, she gradually gave that student the strength and will to overcome the difficult years of deprivation. Now, Hoi has a warm family and a stable job in Bien Hoa...

She humbly but firmly refused to write, take pictures and talk about herself... Suddenly I understood, the things she did simply came from her tolerant heart, "loving others as she loved herself"!
