Thousands of vacationers in China found themselves in a comical and frustrating situation when they visited an indoor water park to escape the heat.

Up to 10,000 people flocked to a water park, also known as China's "Dead Sea," during a heatwave in Daying County, Sichuan Province, the Daily Mail reported. With so many people bringing inflatable swimming rings, the pool appeared to have no room left for swimming or diving.

However, this didn't stop people from having fun by splashing water on each other and taking selfies amidst the crowded streets.

According to park managers, it has a capacity of up to 10,000 people at a time and attracts over 1 million visitors each summer. This indoor water park is said to be the largest in China and spans over 7 hectares.

This artificial "sea" utilizes the region's salt-rich water and contains 43 different minerals and trace elements.

Because of its salinity of over 22%, swimmers can float freely on the surface of the water – similar to swimming in the Dead Sea in the Middle East.
