Groundbreaking ceremony for Yen Xuan road bridge across Lam River

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 2, in Hung Xa commune, Hung Nguyen district, the Ministry of Transport solemnly held the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Yen Xuan road bridge across Lam river.

Attending the ceremony, on the Central side, there were comrades: Dinh La Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Transport; Le Dinh Tho - Deputy Minister of Transport; Tran Bac Ha - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Tran Hong Chau - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and other Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee. Also attending the ceremony were leaders of Ha Tinh province and a large number of local people on both banks of the Lam River.

With a total investment of over 900 billion VND, Yen Xuan Bridge is an additional item in the Vinh City Bypass BOT Project and the expansion of National Highway 1, the section south of Ben Thuy Bridge - Ha Tinh City Bypass, invested by the Traffic Construction Corporation 4 - JSC. Project Management Board 6 is the representative of the competent State agency and the project enterprise is the Vinh City Bypass BOT Branch.

Deputy Minister of Transport, comrade Le Dinh Tho spoke at the ceremony.

Comrade Tran Bac Ha - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development - the capital sponsor for the Yen Xuan bridge construction project spoke at the ceremony.

Yen Xuan road bridge is expected to run perpendicular to Lam river and about 2.5km upstream from the current Yen Xuan railway bridge. The total length of the route is about 3.6km, of which the bridge length is L=1.89km and the road length at both ends of the bridge is about 1.40km, the branch route alone is about 0.75km.

Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong, spoke emphasizing the urgency of the project.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Tran Bac Ha - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development, Nguyen Xuan Duong - Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee affirmed that the investment in the construction of Yen Xuan road bridge across Lam River is consistent with the transport development planning of the industry and the locality, gradually improving the transport network of the whole country in general and Nghe An province in particular. Yen Xuan bridge project not only eliminates the oasis position of 9 communes of Nam Dan district (Nghe An) and 5 communes of Duc Tho district (Ha Tinh) during the rainy and flood season, ensuring the safety of people in flood areas but also effectively solves the problem of traffic insecurity, traffic accidents and traffic congestion in the Yen Xuan railway bridge area.

After completion, Yen Xuan Bridge, together with Provincial Road 558, National Highway 15A, Linh Cam Bridge and the "flood-coexistence" infrastructure system of Nam Dan and Duc Tho districts, will become the most complete and shortest road network connecting Vinh to the Vietnam - Laos border gate. In addition, the project also connects the country's leading historical and cultural relics, meeting the increasing transportation demand on National Highway 1A, Vinh City bypass, National Highway 15A, National Highway 8, promoting trade, meeting the requirements of socio-economic development and ensuring security and national defense.
