Authorities discovered a facility producing counterfeit Chin Su - Nam Ngu brand fish sauce.

(Baonghean.vn) - On September 11, 2015, the Criminal Investigation Department for Economic and Official Crimes of the Nghe An Provincial Police announced that they had discovered and seized a large quantity of counterfeit Chin Su - Nam Ngu brand fish sauce at a facility that was mixing and producing fake fish sauce.

Previously, at approximately 3:30 PM on September 10, 2015, at the intersection of National Highway 46 and the Vinh bypass road in Hung Dao commune, Hung Nguyen district, the Criminal Investigation Department for Economic and Official Crimes apprehended Nguyen Nhu Minh, born in 1970, residing in Block 11, Doi Cung ward (Vinh City), while he was transporting 360 bottles of counterfeit Chin Su – Nam Ngu brand fish sauce (500ml bottles) for sale. Further investigation led to the arrest of another related suspect, Ho Viet Dong (born in 1973), residing in Quang Tien block, Hung Binh ward (Vinh City).

During a search of the residences of Dong and Nguyen Nhu Minh in Hung Thinh hamlet, Thanh Khai commune, Thanh Chuong district, authorities discovered and seized an additional 750 bottles of counterfeit fish sauce bearing various brand names such as Chin Su, Nam Ngu, and Ong Tay; 120 liters of adulterated fish sauce; thousands of empty bottles; 150 kg of counterfeit fish sauce labels and containers; and tools used for printing labels and other materials and equipment used for mixing and producing counterfeit fish sauce.

At the police station, the suspects initially confessed that all the seized fish sauce was counterfeit, bearing fake labels of various brands. Using cheap fish sauce, they mixed it with water, sugar, and MSG, then bottled, printed, and labeled the finished products at their residences before distributing them for sale.

On September 11, 2015, the Economic and Official Crimes Investigation Department of the Provincial Police conducted simultaneous inspections at six grocery stores in Nghe An province, seizing thousands of bottles of counterfeit Chin Su - Nam Ngu brand fish sauce that had not yet been sold on the market, which had been produced and mixed by the suspects.

The suspect is Nguyen Nhu Minh.

The suspect is Ho Viet Dong.

Currently, the Criminal Investigation Department for Economic and Official Crimes of the Provincial Police is holding the suspect and seized evidence for further investigation.
