According to AP, on August 31, the US State Department released about 7,000 pages of emails from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, of which about 150 emails were censored because they contained classified information.

The redacted information was classified in preparation for public release, not at the time Clinton sent or received the emails, State Department officials said. All of the most recent redacted information was classified as “secret,” not “top secret” or other sensitive levels.

Responding to the press, US State Department spokesman Mark Toner said about 150 emails were later upgraded to the level of classified. However, the increasing amount of information censored while Mrs. Clinton was in office has raised many questions about how the former US Secretary of State and her closest advisers managed the government's classified documents.

The Democratic presidential frontrunner has admitted that her use of a home server for personal email for government business was a mistake, while government inspectors have also pointed out that much of the information should not have been exchanged over unsecured channels.

Some Republican lawmakers, including presidential candidate Donald Trump, believe that Clinton’s actions were illegal. However, according to US experts, based on the evidence that has been released, there is almost no possibility that Clinton and her advisers will be convicted./.
