The story of MC Quyền Linh's "cheating"

Quyền Linh is currently one of the most popular television presenters in Vietnam.

Besides his talent and dedication to his profession, Quyền Linh is also loved for his simplicity, sincerity, and tireless efforts.

Fans of Quyền Linh know that he had an extremely impoverished childhood. There was even a time when Quyền Linh considered stealing to survive. Having lived in poverty and suffered terribly from it, Quyền Linh deeply empathizes with and understands the plight of those who are struggling. That's why, when he became the host of the "Overcoming Yourself" program on Ho Chi Minh City Television, Quyền Linh moved many viewers to tears.

As the host, Quyền Linh traveled extensively throughout the country to bring hope to the poor. Explaining his "cheating" behavior, Quyen Linh said: "I was afraid people wouldn't have enough time to complete the task, so I often... adjusted the clock. By doing that, they would have more money to manage their lives..."

Furthermore, according to Quyen Linh's friends, there were times when he would say into the microphone, "A sponsor has sent you this amount of money...", but in reality, it was his own money.

Upon learning the truth behind Quyền Linh's statement about "cheating," many people were touched and moved.

Many netizens also Photoshopped images of Quyền Linh alongside this "truth" to share with each other, creating a humane effect on social media.

In an interview, Quyen Linh once confided: "Sweet melons have bitter stems; the fact that I am now steadfast in the face of the luxuries I have achieved is thanks to all the bitterness I have experienced."

I became successful and brought my mother to the city. After a few days, she insisted on going back because… “she wasn’t used to it.” She said she was used to farming in the countryside; the land never betrays people, the rice never betrays people, only people leave and forget everything.

"My mother said that, 'But why is it that our people, who also rely on rice and land, remain poor?' I've been thinking about it for a long time, and I still don't know how to alleviate the suffering of the farmers."

He was always deeply concerned about the hardships of the poor and longed to find ways to help them.
