(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 21, the People's Court of Nghia Dan district held a mobile court session to publicly try the case of Pham Van Son and Nguyen Cong Hieu, residing in Nghia Thinh commune, Nghia Dan district, for the crime of illegally possessing narcotics.

According to the indictment of the Nghia Dan District People's Procuracy, at approximately 9:00 AM on May 27, 2015, Pham Van Son invited Nguyen Cong Hieu to buy drugs for personal use. Son drove a motorbike with license plate 37K-46... carrying Hieu to Quy Hop town to buy drugs. Upon arriving in Quy Hop town, Son gave Hieu 300,000 VND to buy drugs. Hieu met a woman who introduced herself as Hai (address unknown) and bought two packets of heroin for 300,000 VND. After purchasing the heroin, Son and Hieu returned to Nghia Dan district where they were caught red-handed. One packet of heroin weighing 0.2 grams with a purity of 57.4% was seized from Pham Van Son's pants pocket, and one packet of heroin weighing 0.2 grams with a purity of 59.6% was seized from Nguyen Cong Hieu's possession.

At the trial, considering that defendants Pham Van Son and Nguyen Cong Hieu had honestly confessed their guilt, and applying Clause 1, Article 194 of the Penal Code, the Trial Panel decided to sentence Pham Van Son to 24 months imprisonment and Nguyen Cong Hieu to 24 months imprisonment for the crime of illegally possessing narcotics.
