(Baonghean) - On December 31, the ASEAN community will officially come into being. This is a great opportunity for Vietnam in general and Nghe An in particular to integrate into the dynamically developing economy of the region. Along with that opportunity, the great challenge is that human resources must meet the requirements of the integration period. So how do investors evaluate Vietnamese workers in general and Nghe An workers in particular? Nghe An Newspaper reporters recorded the opinions of domestic and foreign experts on this issue.

Mr. Mori Mutsuya, Chief Representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Vietnam:

“I see that Vietnamese workers are very hard-working and diligent, they have the ability to quickly absorb science and technology and are very quick in producing high-quality products. However, I see that there is still a problem, which is that in Vietnam today there are not many mechanisms to effectively bring scientific research results from universities to farmers.”

Mr. Cho Sung Min, Administrative Director of BSE Electronics Company (Southeast Nghe An Economic Zone):

“Regarding the quality of human resources, first of all, regarding workers, I see that the population in Nghe An is quite large and healthy, capable of meeting the requirements of the job. That is an advantage for foreign enterprises to invest in Nghe An. Regarding management personnel, mainly in the technical field, we have coordinated with training schools in Nghe An such as the Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technical Vocational College, Vinh University, etc. to organize sharing sessions and exchanges on technical information, helping students to meet our job requirements when they graduate. I think Vietnamese workers in general and Nghe An in particular need to improve their foreign language skills, because in many positions, foreign companies really need workers who can write or communicate in foreign languages.”

Ms. Choe Yeongia, Korean language lecturer at Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technical Vocational College:

“During my teaching, I have found that Vietnamese students are very hard-working and creative, with good learning ability. This is an advantage that helps Vietnamese students develop their abilities and capacities after graduation. However, most Vietnamese students do not have many opportunities to interact with other countries to learn, exchange and improve their abilities. This is very important in the integration period, so I think there should be more playgrounds and increased exchanges between Vietnamese students and other countries so that Vietnamese students can supplement the necessary skills, equipping them for future work.”
