According to information from the Thanh Ha commune authorities in Thanh Chuong district, on the afternoon of September 6th, Mr. Duong Tien Nam (born in 1976), an official of the Thanh Chuong District Protective Forest Management Board, along with a group of friends, went swimming in the Khe Voi area of ​​Thanh Ha commune, Thanh Chuong district, after having lunch.

A short while later, when they couldn't find Nam, they split up to search the surrounding area. When they found him, he was unconscious at the bottom of a deep water pit; they immediately took him to Thanh Chuong District General Hospital for emergency treatment. Despite the efforts of the doctors and nurses, Nam passed away.

Mr. Nam's body has now been handed over to his family for burial according to local customs.
