Provincial police meet with people who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 17th, the Nghe An Provincial Police organized a meeting with people who rendered meritorious services to the revolution within the Nghe An Police force to commemorate the 68th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27th, 1947 - July 27th, 2015).

Attending the meeting were Colonel Ho Van Tu - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, former leaders of the Provincial Police from various periods, heroes of the People's Armed Forces, veteran revolutionary cadres, representatives of the families of martyrs, and wounded soldiers currently working in the Nghe An Police force.

Guided by the principle of "drinking water, remembering the source," the Party Committee and leadership of the Provincial Public Security Department have consistently focused on directing the effective implementation of preferential policies for those who have rendered meritorious service to the revolution, in conjunction with the "gratitude and repayment" campaign, and various charitable activities. This demonstrates gratitude for the contributions and sacrifices of those who have rendered meritorious service to the revolution, while also motivating and encouraging officers and soldiers to overcome difficulties and successfully fulfill their assigned political tasks.

Major Tran Ngoc Tuan, Deputy Head of the Personnel and Organization Department of the Provincial Police, reported on the outstanding achievements of the policy work for people with meritorious services over the past five years.

Over the past five years (2010-2015), the Nghe An Provincial Police have proposed to the Party and State the recognition of 2 martyrs and 45 wounded soldiers, and the conferment of the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces on 2 comrades. Many cases have been proposed, considered, recognized, and resolved regarding hardship allowances and policies, with a total expenditure of nearly 1.9 billion VND. At the same time, the Provincial Police have regularly encouraged officers and soldiers to voluntarily contribute over 2 billion VND to various charitable funds and the "Comradeship Fund of the People's Police" to promptly encourage, visit, and assist officers, soldiers, their families, and those who have contributed to the revolution facing difficulties and hardships. They have also built and repaired 12 charitable houses and given gifts to children of wounded soldiers and martyrs who are facing difficulties but excel in their studies.

Currently, the Nghe An Provincial Police have 263 beneficiaries of social policies, including war invalids, relatives of martyrs, and those who have made contributions to the revolution. These war invalids and relatives of martyrs consistently uphold a high sense of responsibility, overcoming losses and difficulties due to declining health to continue making significant contributions to ensuring security and order, and contributing to the development of their homeland. Many of them are key figures on the front lines of the fight against criminal and drug-related crimes, such as Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duc Cuong - Head of the Criminal Investigation Department for Drug Crimes - who is both a Hero of the People's Armed Forces and a war invalid; and Colonel Le Viet Ha - Deputy Head of the Criminal Fugitive Apprehension Department, who is both a war invalid and a relative of a martyr.

Speaking at the meeting, Colonel Ho Van Tu, Deputy Director of the Nghe An Provincial Police, expressed his deep gratitude to the veteran revolutionaries, wounded soldiers, relatives of martyrs' families, and those who have contributed to the revolution. He emphasized that in the coming time, those working in policy within the Nghe An Provincial Police force need to strive to better implement preferential policies for those who have contributed to the revolution and support their families, strengthen the work of caring for and showing gratitude to those who have contributed to the revolution and their relatives, educate them on the traditions of "Drinking water, remember the source," and "Showing gratitude," treating policy beneficiaries and those who have contributed to the revolution as their own beloved family members.
