Pilot training for Vietnamese and Thai reporters
At the invitation of the Confederation of Thai Journalists (CTJ), a delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association (VJA), led by Mr. Thuan Huu, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, visited and worked in Thailand from September 26 to October 2.
At the meeting with the VJA delegation with the participation of Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Nguyen Tat Thanh, CTJ Chairman Thepchai Yong highly appreciated the positive and effective activities of the Vietnam Journalists Association in recent times, contributing significantly to strengthening the relationship between Vietnam and Thailand.
According to Mr. Thepchai, cooperation between the two countries' journalist associations over the past 22 years has been continuously consolidated and enhanced; the two sides regularly exchange delegations at all levels and coordinate well with each other on related issues.

Mr. Thepchai suggested that the two sides closely coordinate in upcoming major events such as the formation of the ASEAN Economic Community and the General Assembly of the Confederation of ASEAN Journalists in late 2015, activities to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Thailand diplomatic relations; support and congratulate VJA on assuming the position of President of the Confederation of ASEAN Journalists for a two-year term from the end of this year.
Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Thuan Huu, briefly introduced the activities of VJA in recent times. With more than 800 newspapers and magazines and 22,000 members, VJA is an important channel reflecting all aspects of the country's political, economic and social life.
Mr. Thuan Huu announced that the organization of the 18th General Assembly of the Confederation of ASEAN Journalists, which will take place at the end of this year in Vietnam, is being urgently completed.
In the context of the two countries establishing a Strategic Partnership in June 2013 during the official visit of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, VJA and CTJ have always closely coordinated in bilateral issues as well as in the ASEAN region, contributing to enhancing understanding and exchange between press agencies and people of the two countries.
The President of VJA proposed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on the Cooperation Plan between VJA and CTJ by the end of this year; agreed with the proposal of the President of CTJ to pilot professional training programs for reporters of the two countries, and in the immediate future, to send delegations to each country for exchange and study.
During the visit and working session, the VJA delegation had a meeting with Honorary President of the Confederation of ASEAN Journalists Bandhit Rajavatanadhanin; visited a number of press agencies and economic establishments in Thailand./.
