(Baonghean) - On the bright autumn morning of September 11th, the Provincial Labor Culture House was filled with a moving and proud atmosphere during a solemn rally to commemorate the indomitable spirit of the workers, peasants, and soldiers who rose up to fight during the Soviet Uprising 85 years ago. But even before that, the spirit of anticipation for this important day for Nghe An province was already vibrant throughout every street, village, and hamlet, from remote villages to border and island regions... Everything shimmered with the vibrant colors of flags, banners, and slogans, remembering, expressing gratitude, and demonstrating a new determination to strive to build the province to live up to the glorious patriotic and revolutionary traditions of our ancestors...

And today, this pride is further amplified in this ceremony as high-ranking leaders of the Party and State, including Le Hong Anh, Member of the Political Bureau, Standing Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party; Nguyen Minh Triet, former Member of the Political Bureau, former President of the Republic; and many delegations from the Central Government, provinces, districts, and sectors, are attending this momentous event.

The cultural performance recreated the heroic spirit of the Soviet Union.

From Phong village, Thach Giam commune (Tuong Duong district), Ms. La Thi Phuong (Chairwoman of the Elderly Association of Phong village) had the honor of being one of the representatives of the Thai ethnic group from the lowlands attending the commemoration ceremony organized by the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee. While chatting with the Heroic Vietnamese Mothers and other delegates from the lowlands attending the ceremony, Ms. Phuong said she still felt deeply moved and excited as the car sped along the roads where, 85 years ago, our people rose up in unison to fight. She confided: “Yesterday, on the way to Vinh for the commemoration ceremony, we visited Uncle Ho's hometown and offered incense to commemorate the Soviet martyrs at Thai Lao Cemetery. Today, attending the ceremony and living in this atmosphere of pride, I can't express how much I'm excited…”

Present from early morning among the delegation of workers attending the ceremony, Ms. Doan Thu Ha, a worker from Nghe An Urban Environment Company Limited, was moved by the way newspapers have been highlighting the traditions of the working class these days. Ms. Ha said that the company is making significant improvements to working conditions, applying many modern means, and the lives and living conditions of workers responsible for maintaining a clean environment have improved considerably. Sharing in the joyful atmosphere of the ceremony, Ms. Ha expressed immense pride in the traditions of the working class and felt compelled to strive even harder to live up to the legacy of the workers of Vinh - Truong Thi - Ben Thuy of the past.

At exactly 9:00 AM, the epic cultural program "The Soviet Flame," performed by the collective of actors from the Center for Preservation and Promotion of Nghe An Folk Song Heritage, recreated images of the suffering under the oppressive rule of the colonial and feudal regimes. Sitting among the veteran delegates, Mr. Le Huu Tan (Vinh City Veterans Association) was moved to tears as the artistic portrayal of tens of thousands of protesters being bombed and shot at by French planes showed the old veteran's hands clenched in resentment, tears glistening in his eyes. September 12, 1930, was the day the French invaders murdered 217 people and wounded hundreds of the finest sons and daughters of this land. The precious blood of those who pioneered in raising the first flag of the Party during that dark night of slavery transformed into the Soviet flame, a symbol of earth-shattering uprising, illuminating the Vietnamese revolution and continuing to be the driving force behind Nghe An's powerful transformation in today's era of integration. More than anyone else, veterans like Uncle Tan, who experienced those years of war, deeply understand that historical lesson...

Generations of officials and veterans attended the ceremony.

On behalf of the Party Committee and the people of the province, Comrade Ho Duc Phoc, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, delivered a speech recalling the glorious history, emphasizing that the Nghe Tinh Soviet, over time, has increasingly affirmed its immense stature and the crucial nature of this pioneering event: “The Nghe Tinh Soviet was the pinnacle of the revolutionary movement of 1930-1931, a class struggle that shook the heavens and the earth among the working class and peasants; it was the first national, democratic, and people's revolutionary movement in our country under the leadership of the Party; it is an immortal epic in the first chapter of the ‘golden history’ of the Communist Party of Vietnam; it is one of the most representative pages of the heroic spirit of Vietnam.” The speech by the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee also conveyed to the delegates, cadres, Party members, and the people an urging to work together to build a more prosperous and comprehensive homeland. The atmosphere of the ceremony was filled with determination, transforming legitimate pride into responsibility towards the homeland and the country. So that every official, Party member, and citizen can strive together to build their homeland of Nghe An, fulfilling the trust and aspirations of Comrade Le Hong Anh in his speech at the ceremony: "I believe that the Party Committee and people of Nghe An will continue to uphold the tradition of unity, strive diligently, seize opportunities, overcome all difficulties and challenges, and bring Nghe An to become a comprehensively prosperous province"...

The atmosphere of the ceremony was solemn and pervasive with the promise to strive wholeheartedly, to dedicate one's passionate blood to the homeland, to be worthy successors to the revolutionary cause of the Party, of the great President Ho Chi Minh, and of the heroic Soviet homeland, made by student Phan Thi Quynh Trang, an outstanding member of the Youth Union from Vinh University.

The lines from the old poem, "The Soviet drums of Nghe An resound / North, Central, and South pour down to fight" (To Huu), seem to still echo today, urging us on even more strongly. The commemoration ceremony concluded in an atmosphere of renewed and powerful inspiration, igniting a spirit of defiance and indomitable courage, further motivating the spirit and vows of each individual regarding awareness, responsibility, seizing new opportunities and prospects to collectively create a comprehensive renewal of our homeland on the road ahead.
