The Phu Dong Sports Festival is in full swing in various localities.

(Baonghean.vn) - On November 7th, localities throughout the province inaugurated the 2015-2016 Phu Dong Sports Festival with the participation of thousands of athletes.

Participating in the Phu Dong Sports FestivalDien Chau districtThe 17th edition featured nearly 1,500 athletes competing in 8 sports: athletics, table tennis, badminton, sepak takraw, chess, volleyball, football, and stick pushing.

The athletes are competing in track and field events.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, all eight sports disciplines competed over two days. Based on the results of the competition, Dien Chau will select and train a team of athletes to participate in the Phu Dong Sports Festival at the district and provincial levels, which will take place later this year.

The Phu Dong Sports Festival is a sporting event for students in schools, providing an opportunity for them to practice sports following the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh, improve their physical fitness, and contribute to enhancing the overall quality of education in schools.

In Thanh Chuong district,Over 1,000 athletes participated in the 2015 Phu Dong Sports Festival finals. This activity aims to maintain and promote the movement "All people practice physical training following the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh," improve the quality of physical education, and discover talents and sports abilities among high school students.

The opening ceremony took place in Thanh Chuong district.

After more than two months of competitions held in five school clusters and seven junior high schools, the district selected 1,080 athletes to participate in the district-level sports festival finals. These finalists will then be selected to compete in the district-level cluster finals, which will be held in Thanh Chuong in early December 2015.
