BMW reports error in more than 55,000 cars sold in Korea
BMW is recalling 55,737 vehicles sold in South Korea, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said.
According to the Ministry, a defect in the belt tensioner spring was discovered on 24 BMW and Mini models (a specialized small car line of the BMW AG brand) manufactured between November 13, 2007 and June 29, 2013 and could cause the vehicle to lose power while running.

In addition, 24 BMW Active Tourer cars manufactured between October 30 and December 4 last year were also found to have a defect in the seat belt for front seat passengers.
BMW Korea will start providing free repair services from September 24.
In addition to BMW, the Ministry also said Volvo Korea, the importer of Swedish Volvo cars in the Korean market, will recall 30 S60 Compact cars manufactured between April 9 and August 13 this year, due to a defect in the stop-start system that could cause the ignition system to fail and the car to fail to restart.
Meanwhile, Kiheung Motors, the importer of Harley-Davidson motorcycles in this market, will also have to recall 207 XG750 motorcycles, manufactured between February 24, 2014 and July 15, 2015, due to a fuel pump defect that could cause the engine to stop while the vehicle is running.
