RIA Novosti news agency quoted a source from the European Union (EU) as saying that at a meeting of permanent representatives of EU countries held today, September 14, the EU decided to extend sanctions against a number of Russian and Ukrainian individuals and organizations until March 2016 for "violating the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine".

It is known that the EU sanctions against a number of Russian and Ukrainian individuals and organizations mentioned above will expire tomorrow, September 15.

“The resolution was passed,” the source said.

Relations between Russia and the West have deteriorated rapidly since the political crisis in Ukraine in March 2014.

At the end of July 2014, the EU and the US applied a series of sanctions against Russian individuals and companies, directly affecting the country's economy.

In response, Moscow restricted food imports from Europe.
