The right strategy helped bring VSIP from the paper to reality! (*)

To all our esteemed guests.
First of all, welcome to the groundbreaking ceremony for the VSIP Nghe An Industrial, Urban and Service Complex in Hung Nguyen district this morning.

VSIP has come a long way. In the two decades since the first industrial park was established in 1996 in Binh Duong province, VSIP has successfully replicated its modern industrial and urban park model throughout Northern and Central Vietnam, and now VSIP Nghe An in the North Central region of Vietnam. Today marks a significant milestone in VSIP's continuous development journey. We are deeply honored to have been with you throughout this time. The groundbreaking ceremony for the 7th VSIP project today is the reason we are all here and is also evidence of the strong support from the Vietnamese Government and the Nghe An Provincial Government. This is also a positive sign reflecting Vietnam's robust economic development.

Nghe An is located within the East-West economic corridor connecting Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand, and benefits from most of the advantages of a developing manufacturing hub. As the province with the largest land area in the country, Nghe An has a strong potential for agricultural development. Furthermore, its competitive costs and the 10 million workers in the North Central region lead us to predict that it will be an ideal destination for labor-intensive manufacturing industries such as garment, fast-moving consumer goods, and electronic component assembly. VSIP Nghe An will boost industrial development demand, thereby creating numerous jobs for local workers and generating added value.
Furthermore, to capitalize on the upcoming benefits of the Trans-Pacific Partnership and other free trade agreements currently under negotiation, the Vietnamese government has just approved the VSIP Nghe An project within the Southeast Economic Zone, where preferential policies for investors, up to 15 years, are offered to encourage investors to boost domestic production.
With its leading scale of urban and industrial development in Vietnam, VSIP has become a reputable brand and a reliable partner. Proof of this is that VSIP was the first company to be honored as "Best Industrial Developer in Vietnam" for three consecutive years from 2012 to 2014. This award is a testament to the efforts of all VSIP employees. We will continue to strive for even greater success and are always ready to provide our customers with the best services, guided by the principle that our customers' success is our success.
Furthermore, we consistently provide solutions to support economic and social development in the localities where we develop projects. For this reason, I am pleased to announce today that Sembcorp and VSIP Joint Venture Company have committed US$100,000 to support the Sembcorp-VSIP clean water project in Nghe An province. This community project was previously implemented in Quang Ngai, a central province of Vietnam, where we installed 10 water filters to provide clean water to schoolchildren on a regular basis.
Finally, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and the Vietnamese government for their continued support of VSIP projects. To date, the projects have attracted over 600 companies, approximately US$7.5 billion in investment capital, and created more than 150,000 jobs. I would also like to sincerely thank the leaders of Nghe An province for their tremendous efforts in preparing the land for phase 1 of the project, and for their unwavering support in making today's groundbreaking ceremony possible.
My sincere thanks to Minister Lim for his presence at today's event. His presence is a testament to the support and interest of the Singaporean government in VSIP. We will continue to strive for the project's success and meaningful outcome.
We firmly believe in the cooperation between the two governments in the process of industrialization and urbanization to accelerate economic development. Our core values lie in the quality of service provided and the optimal benefits delivered to shareholders. Thanks to a suitable product positioning strategy, we have brought the VSIP project plans from paper to reality and are continuously developing comprehensively for the benefit of the Vietnamese people.
