Illegal construction on the planned area of Quynh Lap 1 Thermal Power Plant needs to be handled.
(Baonghean.vn) - The Quynh Lap Thermal Power Plant 1 construction project (invested by Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group and implemented by Electricity Corporation - Vinnacomin) has a construction area of over 103 hectares in Dong Hoi Industrial Park. This is one of the key projects in Nghe An, but during the implementation process, there has been a situation where people have built works on the planned area, causing difficulties for site clearance work.

In preparation for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Quynh Lap Thermal Power Plant 1 project, the investor has conducted surveys and selected the location many times and found that, in the project's planning area, households in Quynh Lap have been and are continuing to build houses, fences, level the ground, expand the area of aquaculture ponds, etc.
That reality has changed the current land use status of the project area and if there is no timely solution, the situation of encroachment and illegal construction will continue to develop complicatedly, affecting the project's site clearance work.

Mr. Bui Minh Tan - Deputy General Director of Electricity Corporation - Vinnacomin said: "To overcome the situation of encroachment and construction of works on the planned area, we propose that the Provincial People's Committee and the Management Board of the Southeast Nghe An Economic Zone consider, appraise and temporarily approve the boundary as a basis for authorities at all levels to organize the notification to local people about the project's planning policy and boundary, along with timely handling measures so that people in the project area do not bury graves, build new or renovate, and expand construction works."
To gradually overcome the above situation, Hoang Mai Town has had timely solutions. Mr. Pham Van Hao - Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Hoang Mai Town said: "Recently, the Town has established 2 working groups to inspect the actual situation in Quynh Lap area and thereby make a record of the current situation, at the same time propagandize and mobilize people not to encroach or build works on the planned area".
Currently, the investor and relevant levels and sectors in the province are coordinating to implement site clearance work for the Quynh Lap 1 Thermal Power Plant project.
