Bright green border

(Baonghean) -On the difficult roads of the remote border region of Nghe An, there is always the image of soldiers in green uniforms. With the motto "The post is home, the border is homeland, the people of all ethnic groups are blood brothers", the border soldiers have successfully built a position of people's hearts in the border area.

Continuing to implement the program of increasing border guards to help communes, up to now, there are 22 border guards taking on the roles of secretaries and deputy secretaries of commune party committees. At the same time, grassroots border posts have done a good job of temporarily transferring party activities to village and hamlet party cells, helping to consolidate and build a stable and strong political system. Names such as Major Dam Thien Thuong (Tri Le Border Post, Que Phong), Major Nguyen Ba Kiem (Hanh Dich Border Post, Que Phong), Major Tran Huu Phi (Nam Can Border Post, Ky Son) ... have become close and intimate with the political - economic - social life of specific areas. They are truly the bridge between the people and the border guards, between the people's hearts and the Party's will, standing side by side and effectively supporting local authorities in effectively implementing programs and projects to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty.

Implementing the Provincial Party Committee's policy of helping poor border communes, for many years now, Nghe An Border Guard has helped the three communes of Mon Son (Con Cuong), Tam Hop (Tuong Duong) and Bac Ly (Ky Son) with many practical tasks and projects. Words go hand in hand with actions, the movement "Border Guard joins hands to build new countryside" has been carried out regularly and effectively, helping to improve the appearance of the border area of ​​Nghe An. For many years now, border guards have also directly joined hands to support people's livelihoods, by mobilizing socialization from businesses and philanthropists inside and outside the province. There have been 20 gratitude houses, 3 public works worth 5.5 billion VND; more than 1,400 gifts worth more than 1 billion VND in total; 31 breeding cows worth 260 million VND... along with many other practical achievements given to the people, giving them a "fishing rod" to rise up in life.

In the long story along the border, there are still warm relationships between Vietnamese border guards and the people and police officers of Laos. The most prominent in recent years is the twinning program of 18 pairs of Vietnamese-Lao villages, 6 pairs of twinning between border guard stations and military and police units of the neighboring country. In early September, a working delegation of the Border Guard of Nghe An province went to hand over and inaugurate a community cultural house in Nam Tay village and 3 friendship houses for 3 single-parent and disadvantaged families in Sam To district (Lao PDR). That has further strengthened the solidarity, friendship and goodwill between the two countries, enhancing the building of a peaceful and stable border.

The glorious achievements of the provincial Border Guard force are largely due to the encouragement, motivation and emulation of the emulation movement to win which has been widely deployed throughout the force. The emulation to win has become a great spiritual motivation, directly improving the quality and efficiency of all aspects of work. In 2010 and 2011, the Nghe An Provincial Border Guard unit was awarded the Flag of the Leading Unit in the Emulation Movement to Win for the Whole Army; in 2012, it received the Excellent Emulation Flag from the Prime Minister; in 2013, it was honored to be awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces for the second time; and most recently, in 2014, it received the Flag of the Leading Unit in the Emulation Movement to Win for the Whole Force in the period 2009 - 2014.

And there is another noble reward, silent, simple but full of pride, that is the beautiful image of the border soldier deeply imprinted in the hearts of every Nghe An citizen, shining green on the border strips.
