Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dinh The Huynh, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, and Head of the Central Propaganda Department, congratulated the educators and scientists who were awarded certificates of achieving the standards for the titles of Professor and Associate Professor this year; and affirmed that the national renewal process initiated and led by our Party has achieved great achievements of historical significance, with contributions from the intellectual community, including professors and associate professors, in every field.
Many research works by professors and associate professors have been effectively applied in the socio-economic life of the country. The selection criteria and procedures are being gradually reformed, aiming for international integration.
Currently, the number of professors and associate professors is gradually being reduced to younger generations, and their foreign language skills and professional expertise are improving. More and more of them are authors of valuable scientific works published in prestigious international journals and effectively applied in daily life.

Mr. Dinh The Huynh emphasized: Alongside these achievements and progress, we need to acknowledge the reality that our country is still poor and continues to face the risk of falling behind. The gap in development level, infrastructure, science and technology, as well as the quality of education and training, remains large compared to other countries in the region and the world. This requires us to overcome difficulties and strive forward; the lower our starting point, the more vigorously we must innovate, be proactive, and actively integrate into the global economy.
Being recognized with the titles of Professor and Associate Professor is a great honor for each individual, but it also represents a great responsibility for them before the Party, the State, the people, and the younger generation of the country. Each person needs to continue striving with all their heart, energy, intellect, and determination to overcome difficulties, surpass themselves, and together with the whole country, bring the cause of reforming education and training, science and technology to new successes, for a prosperous, strong, democratic, just, and civilized Vietnam.
Professor Tran Van Nhung, Secretary General of the State Council for Professor Titles, stated: This year, the candidates' dossiers were more complete, thorough, and in accordance with regulations. The review and evaluation by the Councils ensured objectivity and impartiality. Encouragingly, among the 522 candidates in 2015, 165 had articles published in prestigious international journals.
According to Professor Tran Van Nhung, many candidates have improved their foreign language skills, with some even being proficient in 2-3 foreign languages.
