Strengthening coordination to protect security and order in border areas

(Bao)nghean.vn)- On the afternoon of August 26, in Vinh City, the Police and Border Guard of Nghe An Province (Vietnam) coordinated with the Police of Hua Phan Province (Laos) to organize the 6th Security and Order Cooperation Conference in 2015.

Colonel Nguyen Tien Dan, Deputy Director of Nghe An Provincial Police and Lieutenant Colonel Phet Son In Su Phan, Deputy Director of Hua Phan Provincial Police chaired the conference.

Since 2014, the Public Security of Nghe An and Hua Phan provinces have closely followed the memorandum of understanding signed at the 2014 Security and Order Cooperation Conference, thereby contributing significantly to maintaining political security and social order and safety in the area, while actively contributing to preserving and promoting the good coordination relationship between the two provinces in general and the Public Security forces of both sides in particular. In particular, they have coordinated to organize 25 campaigns with 503 officers and soldiers from the Public Security, Army, and Border Guard forces to patrol the border area; detected and handled more than 40 cases of border regulation violations, arrested 11 cases, 12 criminals and law violators.

The parties also coordinated to provide information and organize the arrest of 6 wanted subjects hiding in Laos; organized armed raids on 5 groups of subjects carrying hot weapons illegally trading in drugs in border areas; eliminated 8 areas and 37 complex drug hotspots, discovered and arrested 258 cases, 326 drug criminals, seized 7.4 kg of heroin, 158g and 160 synthetic drug pills, 300g of crystal meth and 11.8 kg of marijuana...

At the conference, the two sides agreed to sign the Memorandum of Understanding for the 6th Security Cooperation Conference in 2015. In particular, it will strengthen coordination in exchanging information and experiences in combating plots and activities of hostile forces, coordinate patrols to protect security and order, border areas and protect the Vietnam - Laos border marker system in the two provinces; coordinate in arresting subjects related to the case... In addition, continue to maintain and improve the effectiveness of the BLO Office of the two provinces located at the Que Phong District Police, Nghe An province and the Sam To District Police, Hua Phan province.
