On November 26, 194 teachers and educational administrators with outstanding achievements in educating students with disabilities were awarded by the Ministry of Education and Training in Hanoi.

Among them, there are 57 administrators and 137 teachers at all levels. Specifically, there are 7 preschool teachers, 85 primary school teachers, 7 secondary school teachers teaching inclusive education, 38 teachers teaching special education at preschool, primary school, secondary school levels in special schools, centers supporting the development of inclusive education and centers for children with disabilities.

These are the faces representing tens of thousands of teachers at all levels who have been making every effort to help equip knowledge and skills for disabled and less fortunate students.

To be able to teach special students, each teacher must always be creative and flexible in designing individual lessons suitable for their disabled students.

Not only that, teachers are also fathers and mothers who help children overcome their inferiority complex and overcome their physical defects.

A typical example is Ms. Hoang Thi Sanh, Le Van Tam Primary School, Cam Lo District, Quang Tri Province. Student Ha Van Tai, a severely disabled student, has both arms amputated, one leg is short and the other is long, making it difficult for him to move, but with the patient support of Ms. Sanh, he was able to write with his feet.

Because of the difficulty in moving, Ms. Sanh enthusiastically helps with all of Tai's activities at school, from personal hygiene to his daily activities. She is also always there to encourage Tai to overcome his inferiority complex, and to guide him on how to take care of himself and live independently so that he does not depend on others.

Teacher Doan Van Ninh, Dong Mai Kindergarten, Quang Yen town, Quang Ninh province is also a touching example. For over 10 years, he has visited each family with disabled children to encourage parents to send their children to class.

It is his love and professional skills that have changed the perception of many parents and given less fortunate students the opportunity to go to school.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Nghia highly appreciated the efforts of teachers in teaching students with disabilities.

“Teachers are shining examples of love, responsibility, sacrifice, dedication, and wholeheartedness for their beloved students. It is this love and deep sympathy for the unfortunate lives that has helped teachers and administrators overcome countless difficulties and hardships to fulfill their duties. The daily progress of students is the happiness of each of us teachers,” said Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Nghia.

This is the third time the Ministry of Education and Training has organized an event to honor teachers of students with disabilities to share and encourage their efforts in teaching and caring for their special students./.
