Discussing solutions for fertilizer supply during the 2015 spring crop season.

(Baonghean.vn) - On November 8th, in Vinh City, the Provincial Farmers' Association, in coordination with the Nghe An Agricultural Materials Joint Stock Company, organized a conference to review the results of the 2015 fertilizer supply cooperation program and discuss solutions to support farmers in the 2016 Winter-Spring crop production.

Implementing the collaborative program between the Provincial Farmers' Association and the Agricultural Materials Corporation (Agricultural Materials Joint Stock Company) from 2013 to 2016, in 2015, branches of the Corporation supplied over 12,000 tons of various fertilizers with a total entrusted value of over 85 billion VND to Nghe An farmers for production purposes. The majority of this supply was focused on the Winter-Spring crop, with over 9,500 tons supplied. Notably, the Farmers' Associations of Thanh Chuong, Nam Dan, Do Luong, Nghi Loc, and Yen Thanh districts supplied 2,265 tons, 2,637 tons, 1,666 tons, 1,656 tons, and 1,229 tons of various fertilizers.

However, coordination in the supply chain between the Association and the Corporation and other manufacturers and businesses; and between the Corporation's member units and the Association and its agents and cooperatives in the area, remains overlapping. The process of debt collection and repayment has not been decisively managed, and there are still long-term overdue debts. Farmers' demand for fertilizers often occurs simultaneously in large quantities, so transportation and supply cannot keep up.

Leaders of the Provincial Farmers' Association and member companies of the Agricultural Materials Corporation shared the advantages and difficulties encountered and proposed solutions to more effectively coordinate efforts in the future.
