Congress of Delegates of Nghe An Provincial Oriental Medicine Association, term XII, 2015-2020

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of September 29, Nghe An Province's Oriental Medicine Association held the 12th Congress of Delegates for the 2015-2020 term and received the Second Class Labor Medal.

Attending the Congress were pharmacist Pham Hinh, Permanent Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Oriental Medicine Association; Comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of departments, branches and 150 delegates representing more than 1,900 members of the association.

During the 2010-2015 term, Nghe An Oriental Medicine Association has done a good job of inheriting, promoting, developing oriental medicine, preserving national cultural heritage; enhancing professional training, improving professional knowledge and management for the team of association members; paying attention to directing the good implementation of scientific research work; consolidating and developing the system of diagnostic and treatment rooms at all levels of the association and private clinics, undertaking a part of medical examination and treatment for the people, especially in remote areas, ethnic minority areas...

Pharmacist Hoang Van Hao, Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Health, Chairman of the Provincial Oriental Medicine Association opened the Congress.

Up to now, the Association has had one provincial-level clinic and one inheritance center, 10 district-level clinics, 250 commune-level clinics and over 250 private clinics. Over the past 5 years, the Association at all levels has examined and treated nearly 5 million patients; examined and provided free medicine to nearly 10,000 patients.

Promoting the results achieved in the past term, in the 2015 - 2020 term, the Provincial Association of Oriental Medicine will continue to build the association into a strong enough professional social organization, meeting the needs of serving people's health; Directing the grassroots level to establish a system of commune-level associations and integrated branches; propagating and mobilizing practitioners of Oriental medicine to voluntarily join the association, mobilizing people to plant and protect medicinal plants; strengthening medical examination and treatment using traditional medicine combined with modern medicine; contributing with the health sector to effectively carry out the work of protecting and taking care of people's health.

Comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh proposed that in the new term, the Provincial Oriental Medicine Association will have new developments, contributing significantly to the work of taking care of people's health.

Speaking at the congress, comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh praised the results that the Provincial Oriental Medicine Association achieved in the past term, and hoped that in the 2015-2020 term, all levels of the Provincial Oriental Medicine Association will continue to well implement the direction of the Central Vietnam Oriental Medicine Association; focus on building and consolidating the membership network in both quantity and quality, applying new technology and information technology in medical examination and treatment; strengthen coordination, exchange and learning of experiences between units in the health sector, in the province and other provinces; strive to enhance the role of Nghe An Oriental Medicine Association to become the core in developing Oriental medicine in Nghe An in particular and Vietnam in general.

The Executive Committee of Nghe An Provincial Oriental Medicine Association, term XII, introduced itself to the congress and received its tasks.

The 12th Congress of delegates, term 2015-2020, elected 32 members to join the Executive Committee of the new Provincial Oriental Medicine Association. On this occasion, the collective of Nghe An Provincial Oriental Medicine Association was awarded the Second Class Labor Medal by the President and 1 individual was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal. The Central Committee of the Vietnam Oriental Medicine Association awarded the emulation flag to the Provincial Oriental Medicine Association and certificates of merit to 3 collectives and 6 individuals. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 2 collectives and 5 individuals with many achievements in the work of building and developing the Association.
