Commencement of construction of comrade Ho Tung Mau memorial house

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 20, 2015, the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district and Quynh Doi commune solemnly held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project to restore and embellish the church and tomb of comrade Ho Tung Mau in village 5, Quynh Doi commune.

Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were comrades: Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

Comrade Ho Anh Dung - former General Director of Vietnam Television, representative of revolutionary Ho Tung Mau's family spoke at the groundbreaking ceremony.

The memorial house of revolutionary predecessor Ho Tung Mau was built with a total area of ​​1,208.66m2; including the main items: Church and worshiping house, memorial house, yard, gate, fence, flower pots, fish pond, gold burning tank..., built in the premises of the national historical relic Cu An Church, restoring the tomb of Ho Tung Mau with an area of ​​104m2. The total cost of construction is more than 17.523 billion VND, invested by Quynh Luu District People's Committee; by the Construction and Conservation of Cultural Works JSC; the construction unit is Fine Arts Company and Phuong Thao Construction Company. The project was started to commemorate the great contributions to the nation of comrade Ho Tung Mau, to celebrate the 120th anniversary of Ho Tung Mau's birth in May 2016.

According to the plan, the project will be completed and put into use by March 20, 2016. This will be an important historical site of Quynh Doi commune, a place to visit, study and research the life and revolutionary career of comrade Ho Tung Mau and a red address to educate the revolutionary tradition for the younger generation.
