As previously reported, the industrial accident occurred at 1:30 PM on December 9th in Hamlet 11, Son Kim 1 Commune (Huong Son District, Ha Tinh Province).
Following the accident, authorities mobilized hundreds of police and border guards to the scene to search for victims.
At the time of the accident, 16 people were working on the gas station construction (10 on scaffolding, 6 below). While the workers were pouring concrete, they suddenly heard a slight tremor, and in an instant, the entire structure collapsed to the ground.
Authorities mobilized more than 100 police officers and soldiers, along with numerous vehicles, to the scene to focus on rescue efforts. The industrial accident resulted in two fatalities and six injuries.
By 8 PM that same day, all rescue and recovery efforts had ended. The entire scene was sealed off to facilitate the investigation into the cause of the incident.
