Awarding 20 scholarships to children of poor farmers

(Baonghean.vn)- On August 31, in Yen Thang commune, Tuong Duong district, Nghe An province Farmers' Association organized the awarding of "Dam Phu My Scholarship" to students who are children of poor farmers and have excellent academic achievements in the 2014-2015 school year.

Attending the ceremony were comrade Nguyen Huu Nhi - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association; representatives of the leaders of Tuong Duong district, Yen Thang commune and teachers and students of 2 schools in the area.

Award scholarships and encourage students in difficult circumstances.

At the ceremony, the Provincial Farmers’ Association awarded 20 scholarships, each worth 2 million VND, to students who are children of farmers’ association members from primary to high school. Of these, 5 scholarships were for students with excellent or good academic performance in the 2014-2015 school year; 10 scholarships were for students from poor households with difficult circumstances; and 5 scholarships were for students from near-poor households.

This is a source of funding to encourage, motivate and support students from poor farming households with difficult circumstances to strive to excel in their studies, implemented by the PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation in coordination with the Central Vietnam Farmers' Association in 5 provinces (Lang Son, Ninh Binh, Gia Lai, Tra Vinh and Nghe An), each province with 40 million VND.

Representatives of local leaders and Yen Thang Secondary School received computers and printers donated by Nghe An Farmers' Association.

Also on this occasion, Nghe An Farmers' Association presented Yen Thang Secondary School with a set of computers and printers worth 10 million VND.
