Located in that special location, not far from Hoa Binh Town, over the years, teachers and students of Xa Luong Secondary School have always raised their awareness and determination to teach well, study well, worthy of the tradition of their homeland. In particular, since the policy and plan to build a national standard school (in 2011), the school's leaders have identified the advantages and difficulties in the implementation process. The first advantage is that the school has a team of cadres and teachers who all meet and exceed the standards, including many teachers who are excellent at teaching at the district and provincial levels, with experience in teaching, nurturing excellent students, and experience in educational work. The school also has a long history of achievements in cultural and artistic activities, and is regularly cared for and supported by the Party Committee and the commune government.

In addition, the system of facilities serving teaching and learning activities has been invested in quite basically, parents are very interested in and support the school. The difficulty that will be encountered is that the system of internal regulations and operating regulations of organizations is not complete, some are available but are still sketchy, the records and books of organizations are complete but not really systematic. Along with that, books and teaching equipment, living equipment, although available, are too few compared to the standard requirements, when the income is limited, it is difficult to purchase. The staff is not enough in terms of professional structure, teachers are unbalanced in subjects.

During the implementation, the work of building schools that meet national standards has always been directed by Party committees, authorities and the Department of Education and Training, and has been identified as one of the key tasks to improve the quality of comprehensive education. With the determination to reach the finish line early, the school leaders have taken many measures to promote and improve the standards that have been met, making efforts to advise and deploy efforts to achieve the aspects and criteria that are lacking. The tasks are shown in the Resolution of the School Party Congress, in the plan of tasks for each school year, organized and implemented regularly and continuously according to each specific stage.

Step by step, the facilities (land area, site planning, classrooms, subject classrooms, physical training grounds, etc.) have been completed to meet the requirements of a national standard school. In 2015 alone, both teachers and students have strived hard to reach the finish line. Therefore, Xa Luong Secondary School has achieved 5 standards of a national standard secondary school, including some truly outstanding standards.

Every year, in coordination with the Commune Health Station, health check-ups are organized for students by grade, and propaganda work on prevention of common school diseases and epidemics is done well.
