The Lamborghini Huracan, BMW i8, Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and Rolls-Royce Phantom "Sacred Fire" are the most attention-grabbing supercars in the Vietnamese market this year.

luxury segment. By the end of November, sales across the entire industry had increased by 53% compared to the same period in 2014. Vietnamese brands and tycoons are following this trend, bringing a series of famous names back to the country.

1. BMW i8

The BMW i8 has been the most talked-about name this year. Hybrid engines have never been a favorite among Vietnamese buyers, due to unsuitable road and traffic conditions. But with the i8, the "hybrid supercar" has been arriving in Vietnam in droves. The first one arrived at Saigon port in June, reaching a customer for around 7 billion VND. To date, there are 25 i8s in Vietnam.

This German sports car uses a hybrid powertrain with a 1.5-liter, 3-cylinder gasoline engine producing 231 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque located at the rear. At the front is an electric motor delivering 131 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. The combined power output is 362 horsepower and 570 Nm of torque.

2. Lamborghini Huracan

Following the BMW i8, the Lamborghini Huracan is another example of a car that has become a trend. Although the official Huracan was placed in Lamborghini's Hanoi showroom last year, it only found a buyer near the end of this year, priced at 13.5 billion VND, a reduction of 2.5 billion VND compared to the listed price. The remaining six Huracan cars were imported through unofficial channels.

The Lamborghini Huracan is equipped with a 5.2-liter V10 engine, producing a maximum power of 610 horsepower and a maximum torque of 560 Nm. It features a 7-speed automatic transmission. This supercar accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in approximately 3.2 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 325 km/h.

3. Rolls-Royce Phantom Sacred Fire

Last year, the Rolls-Royce Hanoi dealership introduced the Phantom Eastern Sun to a tycoon in the hotel industry. This year, another Phantom inspired by traditional culture, the Phantom Sacred Fire, is on display, the first in a collection of six Bronze Drum-themed cars.

The Sacred Fire edition features bespoke elements characteristic of the Dong Son culture, such as the mythical Lac bird and dancing figures, along with a gold-plated Spirit of Ecstasy emblem. Since Rolls-Royce established an official dealership in Vietnam, the number of unofficial Rolls-Royce imports has decreased significantly.

4. Porsche 911 GT3 RS

The high-performance sports car, nicknamed the "street racer," was one of the most notable highlights of the Vietnam International Motor Show 2015, the first exhibition of exclusively imported cars held in Hanoi. Porsche Vietnam distributed the 911 GT3 RS at a price of 11 billion VND.

The car uses a 4-liter naturally aspirated V6 engine, producing 500 horsepower and a maximum torque of 460 Nm. It has a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The car accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds before reaching a top speed of 310 km/h.

5. Mercedes AMG GT S

The AMG GT S supercar is the successor to the previous SLS. Mercedes first introduced the supercar in January 2015, and the GT S has since appeared repeatedly at events organized by the German automaker. Vietnamese customers can own this supercar for 8.26 billion VND.

The Mercedes AMG GT S uses a 4-liter turbocharged V8 engine, producing 510 horsepower at 6,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 650 Nm between 1,750 and 4,750 rpm. It features a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The GT-S accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.
