Son Tung M-TP needs oxygen to sing at his live show.

On the evening of December 5th, at Phu Tho Stadium (Ho Chi Minh City), singer Son Tung M-TP held his debut live show titled M-TP Ambition - The First Flight. This first live show was quite important for Son Tung after the pressure he had experienced recently.

1.The public's interest in this live show, besides the support of thousands of loyal fans (Sky), also stems from the observation of many others, wanting to see how Son Tung is doing after the storms he has faced.

It's safe to say that no young singer in V-Pop has faced more pressure than Son Tung. His manager, Quang Huy, once said, "What would a young person feel like if they opened the newspaper every day and saw themselves being criticized?" But it is precisely in such storms that Son Tung's resilience is truly remarkable.

At the live show on December 5th, for the first time, the public saw Son Tung in a holistic light: his music and personality. Musically, Son Tung M-TP continuously presented the audience with a series of his recent hits such as: "Let Go of Each Other's Hands," "The Pitiful Face," "Not Just Any Ordinary Guy," "You of Yesterday," etc. These songs were all professionally remixed by producers into modern and more appealing EDM tracks.

For many young singers, the first live show usually places a high emphasis on the host, because not every main performer is skilled at moderating the show and telling stories charmingly. But Son Tung is different; with his sincerity and confidence, he became the sole host of the live show, "on my own stage."

Son Tung recounted stories about his early days in the underground music scene; about his grandmother, who nurtured his dreams; about his family, who provided him with a solid foundation… These stories offered a stark contrast to what the public had previously imagined – that the live show would be full of K-Pop vibes.

2.Nearly 10,000 spectators filled almost half of Phu Tho Stadium. Thousands of light sticks were waved continuously, reminiscent of the enthusiastic welcome Vietnamese fans usually give to international music stars. Besides young people, many adults also attended and even sang along to Son Tung's hit songs.

Performing nearly 20 songs in a live show is almost an overwhelming demand for a young singer. However, Son Tung still did very well, going backstage to breathe oxygen whenever he got too tired.

However, Son Tung doesn't sing every song with a live band; many songs he sings to pre-recorded backing tracks. In addition, the sound quality isn't perfect, with some issues that require Son Tung to sing a cappella.

The first flight didn't offer any groundbreaking performances, but it was a heartwarming story that further highlighted the image of a highly popular entertainment figure - Son Tung M-TP.

It shows that, in fact, it's not difficult to make this live show have a different feel. But the main thing is that Son Tung wants to turn it into a place for self-expression and sharing. That's the difference, as his manager Quang Huy once shared: "Tung always wants to do something different." And that difference isn't just the desire of a powerful manager like Quang Huy, but more importantly, Son Tung has the ability to create that difference.

The second night of the M-TP Ambition - First Flight live show will take place at Hang Day Stadium (Hanoi) on January 9, 2016.
