Troubleshooting Air Blade scooter problems

The scooter suddenly stalls while in motion, or the headlights go out of focus… these are common problems with Air Blade scooters after a period of use.

Power system failure

The most common problem with the Air Blade 125 is that while the bike is running, the FI light comes on, flashes briefly, and then turns off, or the bike feels like it's about to stall. This is due to a problem with the fuel injectors.

This problem frequently occurs with Air Blade motorcycles. It's highly likely the vehicle is experiencing electrical and power supply issues; the battery and charger need to be checked immediately.

Another very annoying problem commonly encountered on the Air Blade motorcycle is the loss of idle speed while running. When the engine is idling, the sound is uneven, but it's not a sudden loss of idle speed with a clicking sound like a faulty timing belt; instead, the engine feels like it's abruptly shutting off. At this point, the ignition control unit (IC) is highly likely to be faulty, and the oxygen sensor on the motorcycle may also be damaged.

Additionally, another factor affecting the battery is when the vehicle is left unused for a long time. Users should remember to turn on the ignition and wait a moment before starting the engine to avoid premature battery damage from starting immediately.

Engine malfunction

After some time, a major drawback of the Honda Air Blade is the increasingly loud rattling sound coming from the footrest area. When accelerating, the sound becomes more consistent and louder, and in severe cases, the engine may lose its idle speed. This is likely due to a faulty valve train. If the bike makes strange noises like metal scraping together, the automatic camshaft timing system may be damaged.

If the vehicle is running smoothly but the engine RPM is consistent but there is a vibration that changes with acceleration or deceleration, the engine feels rough, and it overheats, the user needs to check the engine oil.

In addition, when a vehicle is running normally, the engine suddenly becomes heavy and noisy, leading users to mistakenly believe there is a problem with the engine. Users check the front disc brakes and tire pressure to ensure the vehicle's operation is adequate; many users overlook this detail.

Drivetrain malfunction

Based on consumer experiences and feedback from service centers, it's generally observed that after a period of operation, the Honda Air Blade feels sluggish, lacking power when accelerating strongly, and the ride isn't smooth. The main cause of this is often a slipping rear clutch, with the clutch plates and bell not engaging properly.

Additionally, Air Blade motorcycles often experience issues such as jerky acceleration, clutch bouncing, front clutch failure, or premature dents, as well as a vibrating sensation when accelerating and strange noises, which are highly likely to indicate a problem with the drive belt. These are common problems with Honda Air Blade motorcycles.

Finally, if you hear a rattling sound in the rear wheel while driving, it means the rear wheel bearing or the axle bearing is faulty. In many cases, this happens when the Air Blade's axle and gear assembly are damaged.
