For nearly a month, the entire Nghi Thiet commune (Nghi Loc) has been in turmoil because of a story related to the education of local children. Since September 5, 2015, about half of the students of Tien - Thiet Secondary School have been absent from school for a very strange reason: their parents do not let them go to a new school a few kilometers away from the old school.

Meanwhile, before that, the students had also come to the new school to study for a full week, happily. And the reason for this reason is... many reasons given by the parents!

If we consider carefully, there is no reason that is too serious and can be solved. From the dropout of students in Nghi Thiet commune, we suddenly feel sad when thinking about many children in remote mountainous districts of the province who have to climb mountains and wade through streams all day to get to class. Perhaps we should not say that because parents or students in mountainous areas love studying more than parents and students in Nghi Thiet commune. Moreover, in Nghi Thiet commune, the movement to encourage learning and talent in recent years has been quite strong, many generations of students have achieved success, some have become professors, doctors, and every year many students are admitted to universities and colleges. So what is the essence of this problem, is it because these parents are too concerned and worried about their children's education?

If someone were to ask why their children were absent from school, perhaps all the parents in Nghi Thiet commune (those who kept their children at home) would be able to give a clear explanation, but one thing is certain, they do not know that their children's education is also one of the basic rights of children as stipulated in the Law on Protection, Care and Education of Children; at the same time, hindering children's education is an act strictly prohibited by law. Thus, in addition to their children suffering unnecessary disadvantages, the parents have unintentionally violated the law.

But let's not discuss the legal factors in this story, first of all, we should verify the feelings and responsibilities of the fathers and mothers for the children here. Perhaps no one would say that the parents who forced their children to drop out of school in Nghi Thiet commune were the ones who cared about their children's education. Because if they cared, why didn't they know about the school merger policy (while their children had been going to school for a week)? And even if they didn't know about this policy, then when they knew that their children could go to a new school that was more spacious, more comfortable, and had better conditions, why did they forbid it? And if they cared, why did they force their children to drop out of school while the same number of parents in Nghi Thiet commune still created conditions for their children to go to school normally? The deep essence of this story is not the reasons mentioned above, but the fact that many parents were taken advantage of by some bad people to incite and incite them not to let their children go to school. The common goal of the government, school and family is to create better conditions for children to study. Children have the right to go to school to study and no one can stop them. Therefore, parents in Nghi Thiet commune should be clear-headed to clearly understand the problem and not be taken advantage of by bad people so that "the reason is bigger than the purpose"!
