Strive to hand over the site of Quynh Lap I Thermal Power Project before June 30, 2016

(Baonghean.vn) - That was the affirmation of comrade Huynh Thanh Dien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee at the meeting to discuss site clearance for the construction of the Quynh Lap I Thermal Power Plant Project on the afternoon of December 3.

Attending the meeting were representatives of the investor, Vinacomin Electricity Corporation, Dong Nam Economic Zone Management Board, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Provincial Police, and Hoang Mai town.

Currently, the Quynh Lap 1 Thermal Power Plant project has completed the work of measuring the topographic map and setting up boundary markers in the field. The detailed construction planning dossier at a scale of 1/500 of the Quynh Lap 1 Thermal Power Plant project has been approved by the Provincial People's Committee.

To implement the project, the area requiring site clearance is about 143 hectares. Of which, 212 households, 33 constructions, and 258 graves must be relocated and resettled. The total estimated cost of compensation, site clearance, and resettlement is about 400 billion VND.

According to the plan of the Provincial People's Committee, by March 30, 2016, the land acquisition work for agricultural land must be completed and by June 30, 2015, the land acquisition work for residential land must be completed.

At the meeting, representatives of sectors and localities exchanged and discussed issues related to the responsibilities and roles of each unit and locality; at the same time, clarified coordination work to speed up the implementation of the plan.

Mr. Le Sy Chien, Vice Chairman of Hoang Mai Town People's Committee, requested the investor to send people to participate in the site clearance council and promptly arrange capital for the town to speed up the site clearance progress.

Concluding the meeting, comrade Huynh Thanh Dien assessed: This is a large project so the site clearance work needs special attention. During the site clearance process, it is necessary to pay attention to the situation and psychology of the people in order to create high consensus and soon stabilize people's lives.

To ensure the plan, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the investor to closely coordinate with the province to promptly resolve any problems arising during the implementation process. At the same time, the main responsibility was assigned to the Management Board of the Southeast Economic Zone, the People's Committee of Hoang Mai Town and related departments and branches to promptly carry out tasks under their management, ensuring the plan is implemented on schedule.

Quynh Lap 1 Thermal Power Plant Project is built on an area of ​​150 hectares in Hoang Mai Town, invested by Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group, with a total estimated cost of about 2.2 billion USD. According to the design, the plant has an installed capacity of 2 x 600 MW including 2 units, each unit has 1 boiler, 1 steam turbine, 1 step-up transformer. The plant is expected to generate electricity in 2020 and annually supply about 6.6 billion kWh of electricity to the national grid.
