Xuan Truong featured in South Korean sports newspaper.
This information was provided by the head of the Hoang Anh Gia Lai club delegation, Nguyen Tan Anh, through a representative of Incheon United (South Korea) before the official contract signing at 2 PM on December 28th.
Mr. Tan Anh said that more than a dozen people from South Korea arrived in Ho Chi Minh City on the morning of December 27, including the director of the Incheon City Department of Sports and Tourism, the president of Incheon United Club, club officials, and representatives of the media.
Mr. Tan Anh said: “On December 25th, the news of Xuan Truong going to South Korea to play dominated all the leading sports newspapers in South Korea. That's also why, in addition to the press, two South Korean television stations, along with Incheon United Club, came to Ho Chi Minh City to report on and create additional reports about Truong signing a contract to play for Incheon.” Mr. Tan Anh added that Incheon United Club had been interested in Xuan Truong since he played for the Vietnam U19 national team in 2014.

Xuan Truong's contract with Incheon United is for two years. Neither Incheon United nor Hoang Anh Gia Lai have disclosed his salary or transfer fee. Mr. Tan Anh stated that Incheon United is committed to providing Xuan Truong with the best possible conditions to play and further develop his talent.
Incheon United was founded in 2003 and finished as runner-up in the 2005 Korean First Division. In the 2015 season, the team finished 8th out of 12 teams in the K-League (Korean Championship) and was runner-up in the Korean Cup. The club's head coach is Kim Do Hoon, a former striker for the Korean national team from 1994-2003, who scored 30 goals in 72 matches. Notable players in the Incheon United squad include striker Jin Sung Wook, currently playing for the U-23 national team preparing for the 2016 U-23 Asian Championship, and former star Lee Chun Soo – one of the key players in the Korean national team's fourth-place finish at the 2002 World Cup, who previously played for Real Sociedad (2003-2004) and Feyenoord (2007-2008).
So, after participating in the 2016 AFC U23 Championship in Qatar with the Vietnam U23 team earlier this year, Xuan Truong will go to South Korea to officially train with Incheon United in preparation for the new 2016 season.
