(Baonghean.vn) - The project to build a resettlement village for 54 ethnic minority households in the Thung Chanh area (Tho Son - Anh Son) has been underway for many years but remains unfinished. The only completed item, the 3km road leading to the village, is also severely damaged and degraded.

The project was implemented according to Decision 33/2007/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister. Finding the Thung Chanh resettlement project area is not easy; many local residents, when asked, were unaware of the project despite it being approved by the competent authorities in 2009 and implemented in 2011. Đường rộng hơn 2m, cây cối rậm rạp
This is a gravel road, a single component of the project, which received a total investment of over 2.7 billion VND and is nearly 3km long. According to the design, the road surface should be 3.5m wide, but many sections are now obscured by bushes, leaving it only slightly wider than 2m.
Along the project route, there are 5 overflow bridges, 2 of which have collapsed and been swept away by floodwaters.
Speaking about the overflow bridge on the project route, officials and residents in the area humorously parodied the song "Boat and Sea," saying: "The bridge is in one place, and... the ravine is in another."

In reality, due to the poor structure and construction quality of the bridge, just one flood can wash it away, leaving behind exposed concrete slabs.

The bridge was damaged, so people had to wade through the stream to get to their production areas.

This small culvert has also eroded and could collapse at any time if there is heavy rain and flooding.
The surface of the road leading to the resettlement area is damaged in many sections, appearing only as worn-out patches.
Có đoạn đường nay đã bị sạt lở và chỉ còn bụi rậm.
Some sections of the road have even been damaged by landslides and are now just overgrown with bushes.
Some residents of Tho Son commune, especially the Thai ethnic minority in Khe Trang Ha and Khe Trang Thuong villages, due to a lack of arable land, have built makeshift shelters in the Thung Chanh area even though the resettlement area has not yet been planned.
The family of Mr. Loc Van Cong (Khe Trang Ha hamlet, Tho Son commune) is one example. Mr. Cong is one of 54 households that registered to be resettled but "have been waiting for six years and still haven't seen any progress."
Every day, Mr. Cong's family has to travel about 10km from their home to their family's makeshift camp for production.

When asked about the project and the quality of construction of the road and bridge in Khe Trang Ha hamlet, Mr. Loc Van Hai replied that the people were too tired of waiting for the project; and the construction quality was extremely poor.
