RightAfter the closing of the 16th Congress of the Hanoi Party Committee, this morning (November 3), the Hanoi Party Committee held a press conference to inform about the results of the Congress.

Regarding the assignment of tasks to the two new Deputy Secretaries of the City Party Committee, Mr. Dao Duc Toan and Nguyen Duc Chung, Mr. Dao Duc Toan said: "I will be in charge of Party building. As for comrade Nguyen Duc Chung, after this Congress, he will be introduced and nominated as Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee."

Major General Nguyen Duc Chung is currently the Director of Hanoi City Police.

After 3 days of active and urgent work with a spirit of seriousness, democracy, solidarity and innovation, this morning (November 3), the 16th Hanoi Party Congress closed, successfully completing the contents and programs set out. The delegates upheld their sense of responsibility before the entire Party Committee and people of the Capital, focused their intelligence, and contributed to the success of the Congress.

Attending the closing ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan, Politburo member, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Ms. Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the 16th City Party Committee, delivered the closing speech at the congress.

In her closing speech, Ms. Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the 16th City Party Committee, said: The Congress was delighted to receive the deep attention, along with warm congratulations, and fresh flower baskets from many leaders, former leaders of the Party and State, leaders of central departments, ministries, branches, and organizations, and from a number of provinces and cities congratulating the Congress. In particular, the Congress was honored to have comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Central Party Committee, attend and deliver important instructions. The Congress was delighted to welcome leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly, and Government; veteran revolutionaries; Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the Armed Forces, and Heroes of Labor; representatives of the Fatherland Front Committee, central and city departments, ministries, branches, and organizations; Representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and the provinces of Vinh Phuc, Ha Nam, Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Hoa Binh, Bac Giang, and Phu Tho attended and congratulated the Congress.

Ms. Ngo Thi Thanh Hang stated: “Implementing the guiding ideology and also the development orientation of the 16th Congress: “Enhancing the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party Committee; promoting the cultural and heroic traditions and the strength of great national unity; mobilizing all resources, comprehensively and synchronously promoting the innovation process, the cause of industrialization and modernization; building the Capital increasingly rich, civilized and modern"; receiving the direction of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, on behalf of the Politburo, giving a speech at the Congress, the delegates enthusiastically discussed, contributed and proposed many profound ideas, supplemented and perfected the draft documents of the 12th National Party Congress and the documents of the 15th City Party Committee Executive Committee submitted to the Congress; affirmed their determination and focused direction to well implement the goals, tasks and orientations for building and developing the Capital in the coming term. With high consensus, the Congress unanimously voted to approve the Political Report; Report reviewing the leadership and direction of the 15th Party Committee Executive Committee and the Congress Resolution.

The documents approved by the 16th Congress are the crystallization of wisdom, demonstrating the will, belief and determination of the entire Party Committee and people of Hanoi towards the cause of building and developing the capital and the country in the new period.

The Congress deeply believes that with the mettle, wisdom and experience forged through practical revolutionary leadership and the process of building and defending the Fatherland, the 12th National Congress of the Party will be a great success; the cause of national renewal will continue to be promoted comprehensively and synchronously; affirming the will, determination and belief of the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people, to well implement the goal of building a prosperous, strong, democratic, equitable and civilized Vietnam.

On behalf of the new Party Executive Committee, Ms. Ngo Thi Thanh Hang promised: In order to effectively implement the development orientation of the Capital in the new term, immediately after the Congress, the collective Party Executive Committee of the 16th tenure and each delegate, representative of Party committees, Party organizations at all levels and leaders of localities, agencies and units must immediately start to concretize and direct, deploy and organize the synchronous, timely and effective implementation of the Resolution of the Congress. All levels, sectors, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations of the City need to have a plan to thoroughly disseminate to cadres, Party members and people of all walks of life the Resolution of the 16th City Party Committee, in conjunction with the implementation of the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress; urgently develop programs and plans to concretize and focus on directing the implementation of the Resolution of the Congress, in order to soon bring the Resolution of the Party into life.

“The Executive Committee of the City Party Committee, term XVI, vows to continue to inherit and promote the tradition of solidarity and unity within the Party and among the people; to promote all resources, to comprehensively and synchronously promote the renovation process, the industrialization and modernization of the Capital. Continue to effectively implement Resolution 4 of the Central Committee (term XI) and Directive No. 03 of the Politburo, to build the Hanoi Party Committee to be even cleaner and stronger; to study and follow the exemplary and shining moral example of President Ho Chi Minh; to strive to build the Capital to be increasingly rich, beautiful, civilized and modern”.

** Previously, the new Executive Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee was introduced, consisting of 74 members. The Executive Committee also elected 16 members to the Standing Committee; elected 4 Deputy Secretaries. Ms. Ngo Thi Thanh Hang was unanimously assigned by the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee to be the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 2015-2020 term.
