Provincial leaders attend Vietnam investment promotion forum in Gifu, Japan

(Baonghean.vn) - Continuing the visit and work in Gifu province, Japan, on the afternoon of November 14, the delegation of Nghe An province led by comrade Ho Duc Phoc, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, attended the Vietnam - Gifu province Investment Promotion Forum co-chaired by the Foreign Investment Agency - Ministry of Planning and Investment, General Department of Tourism, BIDV and Nghe An province. Attending the Forum were leaders of the Foreign Investment Agency - Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, Nghe An province, Quang Binh province, Gifu province and corporations and enterprises from Vietnam and Gifu province.

On behalf of the delegation of Nghe An province, comrade Ho Duc Phoc, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, introduced the investment promotion activities of Nghe An province through a video clip report, introducing the potentials and advantages of Nghe An province in attracting investment, tourism and trade, and at the same time proposed specific contents that Nghe An province is in great need of investment cooperation such as the issue of linking tourism development, investment in manufacturing industry, supporting industry, electronic components, mineral exploitation and processing, vocational training, providing highly skilled labor force in the fields of information technology and health, etc.

The sideline activities of the Forum took place enthusiastically on cooperation connections between Nghe An Province Enterprises and Gifu Province Enterprises, Japan. Opening up cooperation opportunities in the fields of investment cooperation in tourism development, high-tech industry, infrastructure construction, etc.

It is expected that in February 2016, about 20 enterprises from Gifu province will visit and work with the leaders of Nghe An province. In recent years, in terms of investment, Japanese capital flows into Vietnam through foreign direct investment (FDI) and official development assistance (ODA) have continuously increased, often ranking among the top countries and territories investing in Vietnam. These are extremely important resources for the economic development of Vietnam in general and Nghe An in particular.

Regarding tourism, Japan has always been among the countries with the largest number of tourists to Vietnam in recent years and is considered to have great potential in promoting tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Japan in the coming time. Therefore, this forum is a very important opportunity for Nghe An province to convey to international friends, Japanese investors in general and Gifu province's business community in particular to learn about the province's potential advantages, opening up great opportunities in investment, trade and tourism cooperation in the coming time.
