Strengthening propaganda about Vietnam's territorial sovereignty

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 19, the Department of Information and Communications held a training conference on foreign information work in 2015.

Attending the training were representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Department of Information and Communications, Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism, Propaganda Departments of districts, cities, and towns, representatives of local press agencies... The lecturer of the training class was Dr. Tran Cong Truc - Former Head of the Government Border Committee.

Overview of the training conference.

Comrade Nguyen Ba Hao - Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications opened the training session.

At the training conference, delegates heard reports on the following topics: Vietnam's territory, the situation in the East Sea and some notes on current propaganda work; legal principles to resolve territorial sovereignty disputes and delimitation of overlapping maritime zones and continental shelves; East Sea disputes in the light of international law...

Dr. Tran Cong Truc - Former Head of the Government Border Committee presented topics in the training program.

In particular, the training program provides a lot of useful information about Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos. In propaganda work, it is necessary to affirm that our country's occupation and exercise of sovereignty over the two archipelagos mentioned above is real, continuous and legally peaceful, meeting all the conditions of the principle of real occupation that international law and practice have been and are in effect.

Representatives of press agencies attended the training session.

Trainees from the Propaganda Department and People's Committees of districts, cities, towns... received information at the training session.

Regarding foreign information work in Nghe An, on February 5, 2013, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Decision No. 13/2012/QD-UBND promulgating the Regulation on State management of foreign information in Nghe An province. In which, it specifically presents the management principles and state management responsibilities for foreign information activities.

The training session is a practical activity to help trainees improve their understanding, knowledge, ability to analyze and evaluate information, especially foreign information in the context of the current international, regional, domestic and provincial situations. Thereby, creating changes in state management of foreign information, creating unity in information work, promoting the image and enhancing the position of Vietnam in general and Nghe An in particular./.
