The form of the joint statement of the trilateral summit between South Korea, China and Japan is expected to be more than a diplomatic statement.

The joint statement will include a reaffirmation of the necessity and urgency of resolving the North Korean nuclear issue, and a demand that Pyongyang comply with the September 19, 2005 Joint Statement as well as UN Security Council resolutions related to its nuclear and missile programs.

In addition, the content of the above joint statement also shows the will and efforts of the three countries of Korea, China and Japan to restart the six-party talks to resolve the North Korean nuclear issue.

The 6th Korea-China-Japan Trilateral Summit is expected to take place in the South Korean capital Seoul at the end of this month or early next November.

Previously, the 5th trilateral summit was held in 2012 in Beijing (China). This mechanism was initiated by the three countries of Korea, China and Japan and held for the first time in 2008./.
