This is an annual activity to promote trade promotion activities, raise awareness for farmers in production and livestock breeding. Through that, participating households have the opportunity to meet and exchange experiences and knowledge on getting rich from raising buffalo and cows in the district. From the early morning mist, people gathered in large numbers to cheer for the contest.

This year's competition had 43 pairs of buffaloes and cows from 19 communes, with the most being the host team Nam Can (8 cows). The competition took place in 2 rounds: learning about animal husbandry and healthy, beautiful buffaloes and cows. Before the competition, the buffaloes and cows were put in a separate holding area.

The organizing committee awarded 2 first prizes, 2 second prizes and consolation prizes to the winning buffalo and cow owners. The first prize for buffalo this year belonged to Mr. Tho Sua Cho's household (Huoi Vieng village - Dooc May), the first prize for cow belonged to Mr. Ha Xai Co's household (Huoi Khe village - Muong Tip), each prize worth 2 million VND.
After the beauty and health of buffaloes and cows competition, the traditional buffalo fighting competition took place. This was also the most exciting part of the competition.
The buffalo fighting part is exciting with dangerous horn-locking positions.
Many buffalo and cow owners from Noong Het province (Laos) also brought trucks carrying buffalo and cows to participate in the fighting festival.
This is an annual activity of Ky Son district and attracts many local people to participate.
