Russian scholar predicts Hillary Clinton will win US presidency
On January 18, the Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO) of the Russian Academy of Sciences announced its annual foreign policy forecast, which detailed the US domestic political situation and predicted that the winner of the US presidential election in November would be former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who defeated Republican candidate Marco Rubio.

The report said Hillary Clinton's success in the final stages of the campaign will depend largely on her ability to do the impossible: offer a middle ground that satisfies both political poles in the United States.
Additionally, the Democratic Party's "entire female base" will support Clinton, although polls in New Hampshire show Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is winning more support among women voters and since September 2015 there have been signs of her female support trending down.
Senator Rubio, who is currently ranked third in the list of potential Republican candidates behind billionaire Donald Trump and Senator Ted Cruz in the party's polls in Iowa and nationally, could eventually take the lead, according to reports.
