Gas price increased by 17,000 VND/12 kg cylinder

On the afternoon of November 1, gas trading and distribution businesses in Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces and cities announced that gas prices will increase by about VND1,416/kg, equivalent to VND17,000/12kg cylinder compared to last month, depending on the brand.

According to the explanation of business and distribution units, the reason for the increase in gas prices compared to last month is because the average world gas price in November 2015 was just announced at 415 USD/ton, an increase of 52.5 USD/ton compared to last month, leading to the domestic price being adjusted up accordingly. Specifically, from 7:30 a.m. on November 2, 2015, the retail gas price at agents to consumers in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces and cities will fluctuate from 290,000-300,000 VND/12kg cylinder.

Gas price in November 2015 increased by 17,000 VND/12kg cylinder compared to the previous month.

Industry experts say gas prices are likely to continue to rise in the coming months due to strong global demand, especially in winter.
