That is one of the outstanding results from the search and rescue (SAR) work of the Navy in 2015.

Colonel Dong Xuan Diep, Head of the Rescue Department (Navy General Staff) said that in 2015, Navy units organized 143 search and rescue operations; mobilizing nearly 3,700 officers and soldiers and more than 100 ships, planes, boats, armored vehicles and cars to participate.

Through this, 117 people on islands and platforms were rescued; 104 people in distress at sea (including 4 people from the Malaysian Navy); 15 distressed vehicles were searched and towed; 6 distressed ships were helped and repaired at sea.
