Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 6, in Vinh City, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in Nghe An organized a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and summarized its activities in 2015.

The Association of Photographic Artists was established on December 8, 1965, the first Congress was held in Hanoi. After 50 years of operation, from more than 70 members, to date the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists has nearly 1,000 members, 80 branches, in 63 provinces/cities. Members include journalists, photojournalists and from many different professions in all parts of the country who love the art of photography.

Over the past years, Vietnamese photographers have made great strides in their development, winning many prestigious awards both domestically and internationally. Hundreds of artists have been awarded high photography titles by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) and other international photography organizations.

The Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists was honored to receive the Ho Chi Minh Medal, the First Class Independence Medal, and many other noble awards from the Party and State to outstanding collectives and individuals.

The Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in Nghe An has 13 members, with an average age of over 60 years old, but all of them are enthusiastic about creating, contributing to the development of the provincial photography movement. In 2015, the association organized many creative exhibition activities, and coordinated with a number of agencies to organize photo contests. Many artists became famous, won many high awards at home and abroad, one was an excellent photographer and one was awarded the title of Specially Excellent Photographic Artist, the most prestigious title of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.

In 2015, the branch members won a Silver Medal at the North Central Art Photography Festival, a B prize at the National Award for the topic of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's moral example, a First Prize in the Vietnam Beauty Contest, and two First Prizes in the art photography and journalism camp organized by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in Lai Chau...

On this occasion, the Association proposed that the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists commend 3 members with outstanding achievements in 2015.
