(Baonghean.vn)- On November 17, in Ky Son district, the Nghe An Border Guard Command and the People's Committee of Ky Son district (Nghe An) held a conference to deploy a plan to coordinate in resolving the complicated drug situation on the border between Ky Son district, Nghe An province (Vietnam) and Noong Het district, Xieng Khouang province (Laos), (abbreviated as Plan 1368).

The conference was chaired by Major General Nguyen Canh Hien, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Border Guard; Colonel Dinh Ngoc Van, Commander of the Nghe An Border Guard; Comrade Bui Tram, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ky Son district; and Comrade Cho-lo Cama, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Noong Het district, Xieng Khouang province.

With the determination to push back crime and drug abuse on the border, Nghe An and Xieng Khouang provinces have coordinated to implement Plan 1368. Accordingly, the professional forces of Nghe An Border Guard and the authorities of the two provinces directed professional agencies to use professional measures to grasp the situation of drug crime activities and other factors related to drug trafficking and transportation activities across the border; to propagate and mobilize people, to launch a mass movement to fight against drug crime. Plan 1368 will be implemented in Muong Xen town and communes in Ky Son district, Nghe An province and the border area of ​​Noong Het district, focusing on the clusters of Tham Thao, Pha Ven, Huoi Lum villages, Noong Het district, Xieng Khouang province.
