In many cases, health insurance covers 100% of the costs of medical examination and treatment as stipulated by the Health Insurance Law.
According to the Health Insurance Law, certain groups such as: children under 6 years old; people from poor households; ethnic minorities living in areas with difficult socio-economic conditions; people living in areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions; people living in island communes and districts; relatives of people who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution, including biological parents, spouses, and children of martyrs; and people who have cared for martyrs… when receiving medical examination and treatment at designated facilities, will have 100% of their costs covered by the health insurance fund within the scope of benefits as stipulated in the Health Insurance Law.
