These individuals are entitled to 100% reimbursement of their health insurance costs.

In many cases, health insurance covers 100% of the costs of medical examination and treatment as stipulated by the Health Insurance Law.

According to the Health Insurance Law, certain groups such as: children under 6 years old; people from poor households; ethnic minorities living in areas with difficult socio-economic conditions; people living in areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions; people living in island communes and districts; relatives of people who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution, including biological parents, spouses, and children of martyrs; and people who have cared for martyrs… when receiving medical examination and treatment at designated facilities, will have 100% of their costs covered by the health insurance fund within the scope of benefits as stipulated in the Health Insurance Law.

According to the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Health Insurance Law No. 46/2014/QH13, effective from January 1, 2015, many cases are covered by health insurance for 100% of medical examination and treatment costs.

Individuals residing in rural, mountainous, or island areas who participate in health insurance, if they fall under the aforementioned categories and are referred to provincial or central-level hospitals for medical examination and treatment that exceeds the local medical expertise, will have 100% of their costs covered by the health insurance fund within the scope of their entitlements as stipulated.
