Encroachment on traffic safety corridors continues in Hoang Mai town

(Baonghean.vn) – On the morning of January 22, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duc Hai - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police led a working delegation to inspect and urge the implementation of ensuring traffic safety and order, clearing urban sidewalks and traffic safety corridors in Hoang Mai Town.

Implementing the telegram 19 of the Provincial People's Committee on urban beautification, restoring order to traffic safety corridors, roads, and sidewalks to prevent traffic congestion, wards and communes in Hoang Mai have simultaneously launched operations.

The working group inspected the implementation of traffic safety and corridor clearance in Hoang Mai town area.

The authorities organized the signing of commitments, reminders and handling the recovery of 311 billboards of all kinds; cleared and dismantled 97 houses, tents, canopies, hundreds of meters of fences... Cleared 1 car wash point on the sidewalk; recorded 46 cases of expansion and re-encroachment in the areas of Quynh Thien, Mai Hung and Quynh Xuan wards.

There are still many illegal billboards encroaching on traffic safety sidewalks.

In Hoang Mai Town, there are still construction material gathering points scattered on sidewalks and roadsides, causing loss of aesthetics and traffic safety.

After inspecting some main roads in the area, the working group assessed that after the district's campaign, the results were still limited. There were still signs encroaching on the sidewalks and construction material gathering points on the main roads; encroachment on the roadway and sidewalks still occurred.

The working delegation worked with leaders of a number of relevant departments and offices of Hoang Mai town on the implementation of Official Dispatch 19 of the Provincial People's Committee on restoring order in traffic safety corridors.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duc Hai - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police Department suggested that Hoang Mai Town should take more drastic measures; direct and request wards and communes to continue to promote, regularly inspect and handle cases of re-encroachment and disruption of traffic safety corridors. Strengthen inspection and handling of market places, handle canopies and billboards; have regulations on hanging and placing billboards to ensure clear roads and airy sidewalks.

Concluding the working session, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duc Hai - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police Department suggested that Hoang Mai Town needs to take more drastic measures to rectify the situation of re-encroachment of traffic safety corridors in the area.

At the same time, attach the role of local authorities in inspecting and handling cases of re-encroachment. Attach responsibility to agencies and units in maintaining order in traffic safety corridors. Select a few routes as examples, handle them thoroughly, then regularly maintain inspections, and hand them over to wards and communes for management; to then expand them in the area. Before Tet, it is necessary to plan areas for trading goods serving Tet for people, avoiding chaotic trading, causing disorder in traffic safety.
